About Us

Mark Booth’s specializing in home inspections is a natural outgrowth of 40 years of home construction and Architectural Drafting experience thru employment for 10 years at Dawson’s Home Center and most recently 30 years at Carver Lumber Co. in Peoria, Illinois. Mark also began working with Rick Hinck, the previous owner of Heads Up Home Inspections, doing hundreds of home inspections since April of 2014.

Mark covers the tri-county area of Central Illinois including but not limited to Peoria, Dunlap, Princeville, Toulon, Chillicothe, Lacon, Spring Bay, Bartonville, Washington, Metamora, East Peoria, Morton, Mackinaw, Tremont, Manito and Pekin. He has also provided inspection services in Bloomington and Champaign.

Mark is certified by both the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and the American Home Inspection Training Institute. Mark also is a State of Illinois licensed home inspector and a current member of the Peoria Area Association of Realtors (PAAR) and a past member of the National Association of Home Builders as an associate member. To reduce the logistical problems associated with home inspections, he is also a SentriLock card holder which authorizes him for easy access into the realtor lockbox program.

Mark focuses on single family and multi-family residential homes but also offers inspections for commercial and light industrial buildings as well. Services also provided thru Heads Up Home Inspections are the testing for radon and testing for the presents of mold or bio-growth. The general inspection includes viewing and reporting on the lots and grounds and exterior siding, soffit, gutter and roofing, air conditioner, outbuildings, garage, kitchen, laundry and bathrooms, all living spaces including bedrooms, fireplaces, attic, crawl space, basement and all the mechanical equipment for plumbing, electrical and heating system, generally in the basement. The on-site compiled reports have extensive checklists, pictures and narrative descriptions and are e-mailed to the client and their realtor in a PDF format soon after the inspection is completed, most times on the same day or evening as the inspection.

What distinguishes Mark Booth from the other inspections is a complete working knowledge of home construction and techniques used along with a desire to be very thorough, with a major concern of the client’s valuable investment.

Mark carries a full Errors and Omissions Insurance policy while being committed to fully complying with ASHI's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, provided in this web page.
